21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: “Gym Launch” does M profit the next 6 months. Then M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to .7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at .2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the .2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of https://Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does 0M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing 0M/yr the smallest doing M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money – not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.

There are so many social media platforms, each has so many different features and it’s really overwhelming if you are new to this process.
But it’s something that can’t be ignored. It’s very difficult to get clients and increase revenue without correctly utilizing social media for your business.
So this video is going to be a beginner’s roadmap to using social media for business.
The first step is getting to know what social media platforms you should learn.
To give you an idea, these are the top 10 social media platforms.
The goal right now should be to get an understanding of each one from a user perspective.
That should help you figure out which one can be best for your business.
Then, you should choose 1, 2, or 3 to focus on, depending on your resources and available time.
If you are starting from scratch, I would tackle the biggest platforms.
For organic growth and lead generation, you can try TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
For lead generation using ads, you should focus on Facebook/Instagram and YouTube.
I create videos for businesses and they usually just think of creating content for the sake of creating content. But that’s the wrong approach.
You should create content with a focus. Usually, entertaining or educating your potential followers should be the goal. This will help build a community around a specific topic.
I’ll break this down into a very step-by-step process.
Step 1: Find the platforms you want to use and focus on.
Step 2: Learn everything you can about those platforms from a user perspective and from a business owner’s perspective.
Step 3: figure out the type of people you want to follow on those platforms. Facebook has a great tool for finding audiences.
Step 4: figure out what kind of content you can make for that specific type of person. I usually recommend educational content for business owners. This will build trust and authority with that group or it’s the fastest way to build a community.
Step 5: begin creating content. Educate yourself about content creation or outsource this part entirely. You can work on creating organic content for long-term social media strategy or short-term content just as ads for quick lead generation and sales.
Step 6: Create a content calendar. This will help you generate a timeline, ideas, and schedule for upcoming content, so you don’t worry about it all the time.
Step 7: Nurture the community, and stay patient and consistent with using social media.

What is a business plan?

A business plan is a written document that describes your business. It may not sound like a lot, but it’s an in-depth guide to who you are, what you do, and how your business works. It’s useful for every business, whether you’re registered as a sole trader or limited company.
Those with a business plan grew an average of 30% faster than those that didn’t. What’s more, they were 2x more likely to get investments or secure loans than those without.
A business plan covers all different subjects, such as:
– Your business objectives and goals;
– Your employees and business structure;
– Your products and how you market them;
– Your customers, competitors, and industry;
– Your financial information and funding needed.
Fundamentally, a business plan is there to clarify what your business is, set out your goals, spot any potential problems and set yourself up to grow.
How to write a business plan?

There’s no right or wrong way to write a business plan. This process is designed to help you uncover information about your company and guide you, not dictate every decision you’ll ever make from this point.
Generally, there are two types of business plans…
A traditional business plan, which generally includes:
– Executive summary
– Company description
– Market research
– Organisation and management
– Product or service
– Marketing and sales strategy
– Funding requests
– Financial forecasts
– Appendix
A lean startup business plan, which can include:
– Company overview
– Mission statement
– Unique selling point
– Target customers
– Market analysis
– Products or services
– Marketing strategy
– Key personnel
– Goals and objectives
Traditional business plans are more common and might be what you’re more familiar with. These can be dozens of pages long that list in detail about every aspect of your company.
On the other hand, lean startup pages are only a page long. They’re not often used to secure investments, but as a way to summarise a business plan into the key bullet points. If you’re looking for a way to get the basics out of the way quickly, this type of business plan might be for you.
If you’ve never written a business plan before, it can be a good idea to start with a lean startup plan to get an overview of your business and goals. You may also want to write a traditional plan afterwards to help you focus more clearly on these objectives and map out your roadmap in more detail.
Even if you aren’t showing these documents to investors at this stage, they’re good internal documents to look back on to keep you on the right path.
